Rates of pay: $46.32 to $51.68 per hour

What will this process be used for?
The intent of this process is to staff term (relief) SO-MAO-05 for positions for Ontario and Quebec Fleet vessels. In addition, a pool of candidates may be created and may be used to staff similar positions at the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG).

Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate(s) must meet and maintain the Conditions of Employment throughout their employment.
- Reliability security clearance (Ontario positions) OR Secret security clearance (Quebec position).

Valid passport (if required for the position).

Valid Driver’s License or mobility associated with a driver’s license.

Valid Health Canada Medical (however, a valid Transport Canada Seafarer’s medical may be accepted on initial appointment for a period of up to a maximum of 6 months or until a Health Canada Medical is completed).

Valid Occupational Certifications (if required for the position).

Accept additional responsibilities associated with the performance of duties applicable to this position.

Agree to be deployed anywhere in Canada.

Agree to be assigned anywhere in Canada.

Going to sea for extended period and in varying weather conditions.
-
Travel by land, air and water.
-
Working overtime as required.
-
For vessels assigned primarily to Search and Rescue operations, employees must be within 30 minutes response time to the vessel during assigned work period.

Complete mandatory training related to employment during the rest period.

Wear and maintain a uniform in accordance with Canadian Coast Guard standards and comply with the CCG Safety Management System.

Meet the standard of the CCG Respiratory Protection Program and wear a Respiratory Protection device.
Asset qualifications

Depending on the position being staffed, any of the following qualifications may also be deemed as an essential qualifications and only candidates and persons with a priority entitlement who possess those qualifications will be considered for that specific vacancy.
Occupational Ceritification- Note employees can only work for 6 months without these certifications.
